Reinforcing Jamestown’s Coast with New Seawall Design

Our firm was retained by the Town of Jamestown to design a new concrete block seawall to replace the existing seawall located along Dumpling Road.

Replacement was required because the existing cast-in-place concrete seawall was in an active state of failure. As part of design, we performed wave loading and scour analyses for designing the new seawall. In addition to designing the new seawall, the project included the design of a new vehicular curb made integral with the seawall and a new asphalt roadway.

The project also included the preparation of plans and specifications for permitting and construction and assistance with the preparation of the RICRMC and RIDEM Permit Applications.
