John Hancock Student Village and Agganis Arena Design
Halvorson | Tighe & Bond Studio, in association with architects Cannon Design, provided landscape design services for the John Hancock Student Village, Boston University’s new dormitory, arena, and recreation complex.
The first phase of the project included surrounding streets and outdoor pedestrian spaces, which have been designed to feel like a network of small urban parks. A new courtyard provides barrier-free access within the space and deals imaginatively with the severe challenges of wind mitigation and roof-deck construction.
