Site Design Carefully Planned Around Existing School Building

The magnet school was constructed behind the existing Rippowam Center School; the site plan required careful planning so as to not encroach upon the operations of the existing facility. The proposed building was carefully located so that it was outside the 100-year floodplain of Toilsome Brook.

Our firm’s involvement in the project included the site, grading and drainage and utility plan preparation, as well as securing approvals from the state Traffic Commission for a certificate modification, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection for a Floodplain Management Certification, the City of Stamford for a Floodplain Hazard Permit, ad well as from the Connecticut Department of Education, Office of School Facilities.
