Tighe & Bond provided site/civil, traffic, and parking engineering services to Noroton Heights Shopping Center for the proposed transit-oriented redevelopment project on Heights Road in Darien, Connecticut. The proposed project, located directly across Heights Road from the Noroton Heights train station, seeks to revitalize the existing center and create a pedestrian-oriented village area centered around access to the train station.

The proposed project features approximately 70,000 square feet of retail space and 60 residential units. Public plazas are located throughout the development to encourage public gatherings and events and help create the village theme. Tighe & Bond conducted extensive parking studies to provide appropriate ratios for off-street parking that considered the impact of the train station and the mixed-use nature of the project. Underground parking structures will be utilized to provide sufficient parking while maintaining a village feel at street level.
