Our modeling capabilities include assessing the hydraulics of the collection system as well as treatment process performance. We have completed combined sewer overflow abatement programs, designed hundreds of miles of sewer extensions and separations, and pump stations that are either new construction or rehabilitation projects. For more than a decade, we have published sewer rate surveys and can complete cost of service studies to assist our clients in establishing fair and equitable rate structures.
We characterize waste streams, perform treatability studies and evaluate existing treatment systems before designing new systems or modifications. Often, pilot testing is conducted to determine the most effective method of treatment. For many cities and towns, we have prepared comprehensive wastewater management plans, capital improvement plans and permit applications, assisted in obtaining funding, completed detailed design and provided construction oversight and start-up operation support services. Our designs include features to conserve and/or reuse water, or to incorporate innovative residuals management processes where appropriate and control odor. We are fully versed in tertiary treatment technologies that provide advanced nutrient removal. Our engineers have also designed industrial treatment systems and decentralized systems for institutional, residential or commercial uses.
