Daniel Buttrick, PE

Senior Engineer

“I tend to live my projects – turning them over in my mind, coming back to them in quiet moments, stopping by the site while passing by, even long after the work is finished. I want to get things right, so that I can stop by in a year, or in ten years, and see that things are still going well.”

Dan Buttrick has more than 12 years of experience in water resources engineering in southern New England. His primary work focus is dams – from inspection and evaluation, through design and construction of dam repairs and removals. He also has worked on several large dredging projects. Dan’s early career experience in environmental permitting and impact evaluation has given him a familiarity with environmental programs that helps him navigate his projects through the permitting process. As a result, he has brought several ‘can’t be done’ projects through construction.

Dan is also a member of the City of Easthampton’s Conservation Commission, and has served as a member of the City’s ad-hoc stormwater committee.

Life Outside of Work

Dan recently went through a boat building phase, completing a family rowboat and a sculling skiff for his wife – both from scratch. Currently under construction is a small boat for his kids. When Dan isn’t spending time with his family or building boats, he can be found trail running or road biking all around the Pioneer Valley.
