Siting & Permitting Support for Transmission Upgrades

Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant (HMLP) has the important responsibility of maintaining a reliable source of energy to its approximately 10,000 customers. To improve reliability of HMLP’s electric system, a new 3.2 mile 115-kV underground transmission line is proposed from a new tap station to be constructed by Eversource in Weymouth to a new HMLP substation in Hingham, MA.

Tighe & Bond conducted alternatives analyses for the new tap station and substation sites, performed a routing analysis to identify the preferred transmission line route, developed petitions to the Energy Facility Siting Board and Department of Public Utilities, and provided expert witness testimony in support of these filings.

Tighe & Bond services include public outreach assistance, stakeholder meetings, environmental permitting, wetland delineation, renderings, environmental desk top review and conceptual soil and groundwater management opinions of probable costs.
