Three Questions on Pavement Management

We spoke with members of our Pavement Management team, discussing how a holistic, data-driven approach to managing public infrastructure assets can assist towns and cities with capital improvement planning.
Q: How would you describe Tighe & Bond’s approach to pavement management?
Peter Dadarria: “Our approach to pavement management helps municipalities understand network conditions, identify the right treatments at the right time, and move beyond proactive repairs. By combining preservation planning, GIS-based analysis, and practical paving experience, we help communities develop data-driven capital plans that extend pavement life and maximize annual budgets.”
Q: How does our GIS-integrated approach differ from traditional asset management systems?
Angelia Bisbee, GISP: “After more than 25 years in pavement management and asset system development, I’ve seen where traditional asset management systems often fall short for municipalities. Our GIS-based platform gives clients an online, easy-to-use tool that supports lifecycle cost evaluation, project timing, and capital improvement prioritization for informed infrastructure investment decisions.”
Q: How do communities benefit from taking a proactive approach to pavement management?
Joseph McGuire: “I see pavement management as making the right decision at the right time. When we take a proactive approach, we can extend the life of our roadways and make better use of every dollar we invest.”
