Tighe & Bond offers training programs that are open to the general public and can provide customized training to meet your organization’s specific needs. Many of our training programs are approved for Training Contact Hours (TCHs).  You can register electronically for classes by selecting an event below or by contacting registrar Nicole Rose at 413.572.3249. Open Enrollment Training

These programs cover a wide range of environmental, health and safety topics to keep your employees up to date on regulatory requirements and to prepare for the wastewater operator license exam. Our training is conducted live online, as well as in person in our Westfield office. Check the schedule above for course dates, times, and locations.

Customized Training 

Our expert trainers can customize the training programs listed for your specific facility needs and provide this training live in person or remotely in webinar format for employees at multiple facilities. If you don’t see a training on the list, let us know and we can help develop one that meets your specific needs.

Computer-Based Training

Our computer based training programs are a perfect fit for new employee orientation training, annual refresher training, and for companies that have numerous facilities operating across several shifts.

OSHA Basics and Beyond (Safety, 4 hours)

Strategies for minimizing liability, reducing injury and illness, and maintaining compliance with major OSHA programs.

UST Operator Training (Technical, 4 hours)

This course will provide operators with the training needed to pass the Federal and State mandated UST operator examination. The course curriculum will cover the regulatory requirements for monitoring and testing of cathodic protection systems, double wall tank and piping systems, spill buckets, dispenser sumps, vapor recovery systems, overfill prevention systems and spill protection systems. The course will also review recordkeeping requirements and best management practices for maintaining UST equipment.

Environmental Compliance Strategies (Technical, 4 hours)

Overview of a wide range of environmental compliance programs & strategies for maintaining compliance.

Chemistry for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators (Technical, 4 hours)

This course includes discussion of the periodic table, elements, and ions in water; neutralization; precipitation; water and wastewater treatment chemistries; and disinfection.

DOT Hazardous Waste Shipping (Safety, 2 hours)

This course is designed to meet the training requirements for DOT hazardous material shippers. This class is intended for personnel assigned to manage hazardous waste who are designated to sign hazardous waste manifests.

RCRA Hazardous Waste Management (Safety, 2 hours)

This 2-hour course is designed to meet the annual EPA hazardous waste training requirements for generators of hazardous waste. This class is intended for personnel assigned to manage hazardous waste.

Treatment Plant Equipment (Technical, 4 hours)

This course provides an overview of typical equipment used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications. Operators will be shown videos of actual treatment system operation.

Industrial Wastewater Treatment (Technical, 8 hours)

This eight (8) hour course will provide an overview of typical wastewater treatment systems that are found in industry. Special consideration will be given to troubleshooting and problem solving associated with industrial treatment systems. Real life examples will be provided.
