Reimagining A Community Plaza in Cambridge
Our team was pleased to join the City of Cambridge and project partners for the ribbon cutting at the reimagined Carl Barron Plaza in Central Square.
We provided landscape architecture services for a design that blends local art with community infrastructure, creating a welcoming space for gathering, performances, and everyday connections. The plaza’s sculptural Ribbon, designed by our landscape architects with SPORTS Collaborative, integrates seating, lighting, and a stage for community use and features local artist Sophy Tuttle’s “Riparian Ribbon” mural. Expanded landscaping and improved pedestrian, bicycle, and transit connections complete this renewed public space.
