Wharf District Resiliency Plan Wins BSLA Award

On Wednesday, our landscape architects celebrated winning a 2026 Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA) Analysis & Planning Honor Award for the Wharf District Protection and Resiliency Masterplan.
As part of a project team led by Arup and the Wharf District Council Resilience Task Force, our landscape architecture studio developed a strategy and vision to reduce coastal flood risk and to strengthen the public waterfront for Boston’s Wharf District.
The plan’s defining move is a contiguous, raised Harborwalk that preserves the Wharf District’s character and working waterfront while expanding public space, connectivity, recreation, and economic and cultural activity. Coordinated outfall storage, pump stations, and redundant fail-safe system infrastructures support a flexible, segmented sub-district approach designed for phased implementation across multiple owners.
The resulting plan is an actionable roadmap that turns complex, multi-owner risk into a unified, equitable, and buildable vision.
The final report can be found on the Wharf District Council’s website.
