Stefanie Tetreault Named NH Union Leader 40 Under Forty Awardee
Congratulations to Stefanie Tetreault, who was recognized by the New Hampshire Union Leader as a 40 Under Forty awardee. This award recognizes the state’s most influential young professionals whose work has helped to shape the business, educational, and financial environment.
For more than a decade, Stefanie has been a driving force in protecting and restoring New Hampshire’s natural resources while helping communities advance critical housing, infrastructure, and utility projects. She began her career at the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), where she reviewed development projects and permits, ensuring that growth across the state met environmental standards, while also mentoring rising leaders in the Wetlands Bureau and educating New Hampshire citizens and commissions in the environmental review and design development processes. Today, as a Project Manager and Environmental Scientist at Tighe & Bond, she plays an essential role in guiding municipalities, state agencies, and private clients through complex permitting processes to advance environmentally responsible and sustainable development. Her work helps balance environmental protection with the state’s need for housing, resilient infrastructure, and economic vitality.
Among her most notable achievements is her leadership in the Mount Washington Summit Assessment, an ongoing effort to establish baseline environmental conditions and inform long-term management strategies and capital improvements at one of New Hampshire’s most iconic landmarks. Stefanie led a multidisciplinary team in evaluating the alpine vegetation community and overall ecological condition across the 60-acre summit, producing comprehensive data that will guide future resource management, infrastructure planning, and sustainable visitor use. Her leadership provides the scientific foundation needed to support thoughtful stewardship of the alpine tundra, one of the rarest ecosystems in the eastern United States, for years to come.
Beyond her project work, Stefanie serves as a Team Leader for our firm’s Wetlands and Ecological Services Group, leads Technical Learning Programs, and contributes to our Communities of Practice focused on wetlands, ecology, and environmental permitting to promote innovation and best practices across the firm. She is also active in industry organizations such as the Association of State Floodplain Managers, New Hampshire Association of Natural Resource Scientists, and Society of Wetland Scientists; this includes regular presentations about her work at conferences, including the Northeast Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (NEAFWA).
We look forward to celebrating Stefanie and the rest of the 2026 40 Under Forty Class in March.
