Rhode Island Proposes Amendment to Narraganset Bay Commission Industrial Discharge Permits
Rhode Island is proposing changes to the Narraganset Bay Commission (NBC) Sewer Usage Regulations (835-RICR-20-00-1) to comply with NBC’s revised RIPDES Permits from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM). The amendment incorporates revised discharge limits preliminarily approved by RIDEM. The proposed changes also include the development of Industry- Specific “mass-based” limits for dischargers. All users of the NBC’s sewer system would be subject to these changes. The amendment is currently open for public comment until February 27. You can learn more here.
