Reopening of Stony Brook Grist Mill
The Stony Brook Grist Mill in Brewster, MA has officially reopened to the public, marking a major milestone in restoring this critical habitat and migratory passage.
We provided engineering services to upgrade the Grist Mill fishway, located on one of the most important fish runs on Cape Cod, to support the migration of river herring. This work builds on our previous design, permitting, and construction administration work to rehabilitate the adjacent Lower Mill Pond dam, while maintaining its historical and aesthetic value.
Congratulations to the Town of Brewster on this achievement, and thank you to our project partners USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Cape Cod Conservation District, and the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries.
