David Murphy, PE

Vice President

“Strong client relationships are based on trust, integrity and friendships – and that is how I approach my work. Listening closely to a client’s unique needs, knowing who they are as a person, collaborating with them, and using my experience to pinpoint the right solution, equals project success.”

Dave Murphy is a Principal who has almost four decades of engineering experience and serves many eastern New England clients. His specialties include coastal engineering infrastructure design, renewable energy, waste and materials management, emergency management, and dam rehabilitation.

Dave has run an engineering company, managed all engineering and construction for CRS in Indonesia after the Tsunami, and managed major and complex projects for the Commissioner’s Office of the Massachusetts DEP. This includes helping to manage the environmental oversight of the $14.5B Big Dig, and the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) Boston Harbor dredge project. He also served as program manager for all Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) projects including water & wastewater treatment, power plants, urban development, Superfund, dredging, and controversial landfill projects.

Life Outside of Work

Dave spends much of his spare time traveling abroad with his family and donating his engineering expertise to help rebuild communities. A strong proponent of serving others, he is active in his parish and has a houseful of kids. During “vacations” you can find Dave and his kids rebuilding roads, bridges, churches, and schools in Haiti.
