Congratulations to Lou Soracco, who was named the New England Water Works Association’s (NEWWA) Volunteer of the Year.

Lou has been actively involved with NEWWA’s Filtration Committee for more than a decade, joining as a member in 2011 before becoming Vice Chair in 2014 and Chair in 2022. In this role, he has been instrumental in organizing and moderating NEWWA’s annual Water Quality Symposium, helping foster meaningful discussion around water treatment, regulations, and advancements in the field of water filtration.

A Vice President at Tighe & Bond, Lou brings more than two decades of experience collaborating with clients on drinking water and wastewater projects, with specialized expertise in drinking water treatment and related source development, distribution, and storage infrastructure. He brings this technical knowledge and collaborative approach to his work with NEWWA, helping to guide committee discussions and support the continued success of the Water Quality Symposium.

NEWWA’s Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a member who has demonstrated outstanding service to the organization or one of its committees. Lou will accept the award at an upcoming NEWWA event later this year.
