Tighe & Bond, Inc., a northeastern leader in engineering, design, and environmental consulting, announced today that Greg Lucas PE, PTOE, RSP has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager. Lucas has honed his transportation and traffic engineering experience over 25 years of providing solutions primarily to municipal and state agency clients in Eastern Massachusetts and across the Northeast. He has focused experience in traffic engineering, traffic signal design, coordinated signal systems, temporary traffic controls, traffic safety, and traffic operations planning.

Working from Tighe & Bond’s Westwood, Massachusetts office, Lucas will lead traffic engineering projects across Massachusetts and complement Tighe & Bond’s team of professionals providing transportation and traffic engineering services throughout the Northeast.

Says Lucas, “I’m passionate about my work and mentoring younger engineers. I’m looking forward to working on traffic engineering projects on a regional level for Tighe & Bond.”

His exceptional work in traffic signal design and traffic safety sets Lucas apart from others in the industry. He has designed advanced signal systems utilizing the latest technology, providing the application of adaptive signal control, traffic responsive systems, and peer-to-peer communication to solve complex challenges for municipal clients. Lucas’ ongoing work in traffic safety aligns with the Safe System Approach, leading the way for the application of improvements to reduce fatal and injury crashes.

In addition to being a registered professional engineer and a nationally certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and Road Safety Professional, Greg is certified by the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) as a Level II Traffic Signal Field Technician and a Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician.

“Greg’s addition to our transportation practice advances our growth strategy and provides our Massachusetts clients with additional traffic engineering expertise. Greg’s extensive experience in traffic engineering, traffic signal design, and traffic safety is directly aligned with the focus on creating a safer and more sustainable transportation system for all users and the transportation funding that will support future implementation initiatives,” says Christopher Granatini, Vice President.
