Dan Miller Named to 2026 BusinessWest 40 Under Forty List

Congratulations to Dan Miller on being named to BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty list. He was recognized for his leadership in environmental restoration and resiliency efforts, community-focused engineering, and service across the region.

A Senior Environmental Scientist within our Water Business Line, Dan leads complex projects in communities facing the impacts of climate change, including coastal areas, mill towns facing aging infrastructure, and vulnerable river corridors and flood-prone areas. His work includes dam removals, tidal marsh restorations, and environmental clean-ups for former industrial sites. Prior to joining Tighe & Bond, Dan’s experience with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service further advanced restoration efforts across the Northeast, where his scientific research and work led to improvements such as reopened rivers, restored wetlands, and renewed public access to natural resources.

In addition to the impact he has made through his project work, Dan has prioritized helping others, whether it’s residents of the communities he serves or members of his team. When working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the organization faced federal funding changes and workforce reductions over the past two years. Throughout this, Dan helped other impacted colleagues to assist with job searching and worked with remaining employees to ensure important project work continued despite the disruption.

Beyond his professional work, Dan is also involved in various local efforts in his community As a personal trainer and nutrition coach, he supports Hadley and Amherst residents by helping people find confidence in working out and nutrition, developing routines that work for them, and organizing group walks and beginner fitness meetups to encourage connectivity and community without the need for a membership or equipment. He also dedicates his time to improving outdoor spaces through picking up trash, removing invasive species, and helping to maintain public trail systems.

We look forward to celebrating Dan and the other 40 Under Forty honorees at the awards ceremony in June.
