Breaking Ground on Dracut Water Supply District’s New PFAS Treatment Facility

We joined the Dracut Water Supply District to celebrate the groundbreaking for its new PFAS treatment facility in Tyngsborough, MA.

This new facility will treat PFAS in the water supply. The project also includes installation and rehabilitation of a water main transmission to enhance system reliability and capacity, as well as comprehensive upgrades to the Lakeview Avenue Pump Station.

The groundbreaking ceremony included remarks from Board of Water Commissioners Chair William Zielinski, Jake Vitali from the Office of State Senator Vanna Howard, Lou Soracco, State Representative Colleen Garry, and Tyngsborough Town Manager Colin Loiselle. Mary Danielson led a tour of the adjacent Drinking Water Treatment Plant, completed in 2023 that treats iron and manganese in the public water supply wells. When designing the plant, our engineers included provisions to accommodate the potential for future PFAS treatment. Our team is providing design, permitting, funding application assistance, bidding, and construction phase services for the new facility. We look forward to partnering with DWSD and MassDEP on this next step.
