A Look at CT DEEP’s Updated Commercial Stormwater Permit
The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) has announced an updated version of the state’s Commercial Stormwater General Permit, effective December 1, 2025. The updated permit will now require coverage for facilities providing educational services.
The permit applies to campuses with:
- 5+ acres of impervious surfaces (roofs, roads, parking areas, synthetic sports fields)
- A stormwater discharge from the site
Academic campuses now subject to the Commercial Stormwater GP are required to submit the permit to CT DEEP prior to December 1, 2026.
