Emily Scerbo named WBJ Outstanding Women in Business Honoree
Congratulations to Emily Scerbo who was recognized by the Worcester Business Journal as an Outstanding Women in Business.
As a leading stormwater expert in the Northeast, Emily Scerbo has made an impact helping municipalities with stormwater planning to protect citizens and local watersheds, evolving our stormwater practice to serve the evolving needs of these communities to maintain vital infrastructure and prepare for rising severe weather events, and paving the way for other women in the field of engineering.
Emily serves as Vice President and Technical Director for Tighe & Bond’s Water Business Line, bringing over two decades of experience in water resources planning and working with large and small communities across the Commonwealth to implement the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) since its inception in 2003. She has played an instrumental role in shaping our stormwater services and has recently focused on expanding our asset management offerings to help municipalities plan for critical infrastructure repairs and upgrades. Emily also serves as a technical expert and leader for our Stormwater and Utility Management Communities of Practice (CoPs) to grow our capabilities and technical expertise in these practice areas.
In addition to her roles as a client service manager and technical leader, Emily serves as Chair of our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee, where she develops recommendations for initiatives and practices to promote a culture of fairness and belonging for all employees.
Outside of her impact at Tighe & Bond, Emily makes a difference in the community through leadership as the Board President for Mass Rivers Alliance. She is an active member of New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA), participating in the Stormwater Committee for the last 10 years, and the DEI Committee since 2024, and is frequently invited to speak at industry events about stormwater management and asset management. She is also recently “retired” from the Board of Directors for the Town of Westminster’s baseball and softball recreational league, but she still loves coaching the U16 Ashburnham-Westminster softball team.
We look forward to celebrating Emily and the other honorees on October 30th.
