Colleen Brothers Lawson recognized with EBC Ascending Leader Award
Congratulations to Colleen Brothers Lawson on being recognized with the 2025 Ascending Leader Award by the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC). The award recognizes professionals in the energy and environmental sectors demonstrating exceptional leadership and industry involvement early in their careers.

Colleen is a Senior Environmental Scientist in our Site Assessment and Remediation Group, where she specializes in comprehensive multimedia site assessments, remediation planning and execution, soil and groundwater management, and regulatory compliance and permitting. She manages large-scale materials management projects, evaluating site histories and analytical data to assess regulatory applicability under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Colleen develops Opinions of Probable Costs (OPCs) and detailed construction specifications for materials management and supports dewatering permitting efforts.
Colleen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science with a focus on hydrology from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Colleen’s favorite part of her role at Tighe & Bond is as a team leader, providing opportunities to mentor early-career scientists and engineers, fostering technical growth and confidence in the next generation of environmental professionals.
Outside of her role at Tighe & Bond, Colleen is an active member of EBC and serves as a Vice Chair of EBC’s Site Remediation and Redevelopment Committee. She is also an active member of the Licensed Site Professionals Association (LSPA) and regularly volunteers in the community with a local animal rescue league and volunteer-driven environmental nonprofit organization.
