Tighe & Bond was retained by the Town of Jamestown to design a new reinforced concrete seawall to replace the existing and deteriorating seawall on Conanicus Avenue.

The existing seawall was damaged during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and sustained further damaged during Tropical Storm Sandy in 2012. Tighe & Bond prepared the RICRMC and RIDEM permit applications for the project and prepared the Plans and Specifications for Bidding and Construction. As part of the design, Tighe & Bond performed wave loading and scour analyses for designing the new concrete seawall.

In addition to the new seawall, the project included the restoration of the public use area located behind the seawall. This restoration included the installation of a new concrete sidewalk, park  benches, bicycle racks, and trash receptacles.
