Pipeline Expert Ian Mead PE, BCEE Joins Tighe & Bond’s Worcester Office
Tighe & Bond, a Northeast leader in engineering and environmental services announced today that Ian Mead, PE, BCEE has joined the firm as a senior project manager in its Worcester, Massachusetts office. Mead has 20 years of broad engineering experience including sewer and water system design, pressure pipe condition assessment and rehabilitation, as well as urban project management. He has helped public and private clients in eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and throughout New England solve a multitude of engineering challenges.
With a background in construction, Mead has overseen improvements to numerous water and wastewater systems, pipelines, roadways, and other municipal infrastructure projects. This includes developing and managing large capital programs for urban clients in Massachusetts, as well as developing pipeline condition assessments and asset management programs for multiple agencies across the U.S.
Mead earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, as well as a board certified environmental engineer (BCEE) with the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.
Mead is currently Vice Chair of the North American Society for Trenchless Technologies (NASTT) Northeast Chapter, Secretary of the Plymouth County Water Works Association (PCWWA), and a member of the Planning Committee for the Rhode Island Water Works Association (RIWWA.) He has participated in several standing and ad hoc committees for the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA,) where he chairs the Water Main Rehabilitation Standards Committee, and is also active in the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) and the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
His active participation and local experience in the industry makes Mead a familiar face to many. Over the years, he has worked closely with numerous municipalities to facilitate engineering and environmental solutions. Mead lives in Hudson, Massachusetts.
