“My goal is to recommend technical solutions that can be communicated to stakeholders and the public alike in order to provide sustainable and cost-effective, decision-making tools for the community.”

As a project manager at Tighe & Bond, Marina Fernandes has over 14 years of experience leading the development, design, and construction of various wastewater rehabilitation projects and planning studies and manages several projects for Eastern and Central Massachusetts municipal clients. These projects included sewer system evaluation surveys, integrated planning for municipal stormwater and wastewater, design of a seawall rehabilitation project, and collection system improvements. In addition to being a project manager, Marina has also taken on the role of Team Leader of Tighe & Bond’s water business line in the Westwood, MA office.

Marina is also an active member of NEWEA where she serves as the Chair of the Humanitarian Assistance Committee and serves as a member of the Wet Weather Systems Committee while also being involved with ACEC/MA.

Life Outside Work

Outside of work, Marina enjoys spending time with her friends and her 6-month-old and 4-year-old children as well as going to the gym and practicing yoga. In her free time, Marina volunteers for Birthday Wishes at the Phoenix House Women’s Shelter where she gets to bring birthday parties to the children at the shelter who otherwise would not have the chance to celebrate.
