Four Senior Transportation Engineers Join Tighe & Bond
Strengthens firm’s Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Expertise Across the Northeast
Westfield, Massachusetts – September 29, 2017 – Tighe & Bond, a Northeast leader in engineering and environmental consulting announced today the addition of four senior professionals to its Transportation team– Vinod Kalikiri, PE, PTOE, ENV SP, Michael Santos, PE, PTOE, Jianhong Wang, PE, and Benjamin Clark, PE. Located in Tighe & Bond offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, these additions to Tighe & Bond’s professional staff strengthen and expand the firm’s breadth of services offered to its transportation and land development clients across the region.
Vinod Kalikiri, PE, PTOE, ENV SP has joined Tighe & Bond as a senior project manager and team leader in its Worcester office. He has 22 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and related permitting at the local and state levels. Mr. Kalikiri has overseen transportation/traffic engineering projects for a wide range of institutional, mixed-use, retail, office, and residential developments in southern New England. He honed his skills by developing leading-edge transportation solutions on high profile projects like the WGBH headquarters in Brighton that consolidated WGBH TV, radio, and WGBH’s interactive and educational activities into a single state-of-the-art media complex, multiple projects as part of Wellesley College’s campus renewal plan that are transforming the campus living and learning environments and the event traffic management plan for downtown Providence, encompassing major event venues and traffic generators such as the Dunkin Donut’s Center, the Convention Center, WaterFire, Providence Performing Arts Center, and Providence Place Mall.
Kalikiri received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Osmania University in India, and his Master of Science in Transportation Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Kalikiri is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in Massachusetts, Institute of Transportation Engineers’ certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). A resident of Millbury, he is the vice-chair of the Roadway Advisory Committee in that town. He is also the Secretary for the New England Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the New England Parking Council.
Michael Santos, PE, PTOE has joined Tighe & Bond as a project manager in its Westwood, Massachusetts office. A Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE), he has more than 15 years of transportation planning and traffic engineering experience for both large-scale public sector projects and private development projects in the Greater Boston Area and across the state. Notable work includes several projects for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority, Wynn Boston Harbor, and numerous high profile urban developments.
Santos earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and is pursuing his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Massachusetts, a board certified PTOE, and a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, NAIOP.
Jianhong Wang, PE has joined Tighe & Bond as a senior engineer in its Shelton, Connecticut office. She has eight years of experience in traffic operational analysis, simulation and modeling, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking, corridor studies, interchange studies, and parking studies. Her work includes a wide range of development and improvement projects throughout Connecticut for both public and private clients. Tighe & Bond projects that she will be working on include the CTDOT Traffic and Safety On-Call, Route 4 Transportation Safety & Improvements Study, and Route 66 Corridor Study.
A licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut, Wang received her Master of Science in Transportation Engineering from the University of Connecticut. She also holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems, as well as Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning, from Nanjing University in China. She has published several papers on traffic calming and context sensitive design for the Transportation Research Board. She is also a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Women’s Transportation Seminar. She lives in Weston, Connecticut.
Benjamin Clark, PE has joined Tighe & Bond as a project engineer in its Portsmouth, New Hampshire office. He has more than 14 years of transportation and land use experience in both the private and public sectors. His work experience includes five years as the assistant engineer for the City of Dover, New Hampshire, during which time he oversaw multimillion dollar projects for that city. This includes the Applevale neighborhood reconstruction, which was approximately 1.5 miles of full road and utility reconstruction, and the Makem Bridge, a $4.5 million federally funded project. In addition, he was the community services representative on Dover’s Transportation Advisory Commission for five years.
Clark earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and is a licensed professional engineer in New Hampshire. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and was the head coach of the men’s lacrosse team at the University of New Hampshire for eight years. He resides in Dover, New Hampshire.
