EPA Releases Interim Recommendations for Addressing PFAS NPDES Permitting

The EPA’s Office of Water has been working diligently to lead the PFAS Action Plan that will help the Agency manage risk from exposure to PFAS. They identified a need for an interim strategy to address point source discharges of PFAS in EPA-issued National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits.

In February, a workgroup was established to develop an interim NPDES permitting strategy to address point source discharges of PFAS in EPA-issued Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 402 NPDES permits.

They recently released the workgroup’s interim strategy, and you can read their recommendations in the EPA’s latest press release.
