Wayne Bates, Ph.D., PE

Vice President

“Successful project execution requires a great team that engages and constantly communicates with the client and its stakeholders. It is gratifying to solve a complex issue, and communicate the solution in a simple, easy to understand language. After all, 'if it were easy anyone could do it!'”

Wayne Bates has over three decades of experience providing environmental engineering services to manufacturing and commercial clients. This includes facilitating high-level discussions on operational improvements. He assists clients with complex issues by developing new and creative methods for success and gains great satisfaction from seeing improvements from even the smallest process modifications.

Wayne is also an adjunct professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and UMass Dartmouth. He is a traveling mentor for the UMass Amherst Engineers Without Borders Ghana team, and serves as the NEWEA Sustainability Committee Chair.

Life Outside of Work

Wayne has a long list of hobbies, none of which he has mastered, and enjoys spending time during the summers on Cape Cod fishing the waters of Nantucket Sound and Cape Cod Bay.
